This Heartopia pet adoption guide covers everything about raising pets in Heartopia. The game launched with 8 cat breeds and 6 dog breeds. Cats are free through gameplay. Dogs require Heart Gems or event tokens. The My Little Pony crossover added a mini pony pet for a limited time. Pets give random gifts daily, follow you around, and have unique personality animations that make the world feel alive.

Pet care and gifts
Pets need food once per day. Feed them and they bring you a random gift the next time you log in. Gifts range from common ingredients (90% chance) to rare furniture blueprints and outfit pieces (5% chance). Pet happiness affects gift quality — happy pets give better loot. Pet happiness increases through petting, playing with toys, and keeping the pet house clean. Dogs need more attention than cats but give better gifts on average.

- Yes. You can adopt up to three pets total. They all live in your house or on your island and interact with each other.
- Do pets die or run away?
- No. Pets are permanent. Neglecting them lowers happiness but they never leave or die. You can rehome a pet through the adoption center if you change your mind.
