Heartopia Energy Guide — Best Food and Stamina Recovery

Updated 2026-06-02

Energy is the one resource in Heartopia that gates everything. Every action — fishing cast, gardening plot, bug net swing — costs energy. Run out and your outputs are halved. This Heartopia energy guide covers the math behind stamina recovery, the foods that give the best energy per ingredient, and the daily habits that keep your bar full without grinding cook ingredients all day.

Energy costs and recovery rates

ActivityEnergy CostBase Output
Fishing (cast)10 energy1 fish + 15 exp
Gardening (plant)15 energy1 plot
Bug Catching (swing)8 energy1 catch attempt
Cooking (per dish)20 energy1 meal
Birdwatching (scan)5 energy1 bird ID

Best energy foods by level

At low Cooking levels (1–3), Grilled Fish is your best option — costs 1 fish, restores 30 energy. At mid levels (4–6), Fruit Salad restores 60 energy using 2 fruit + 1 honey. At high levels (7–10), Hearty Stew restores 120 energy with 3 meat + 2 vegetables. The premium dish, Golden Plate (rank 10), restores full energy plus a 50-point overflow buff that lasts 30 minutes.

Always eat before starting a hobby session, not after you run out. Food buffs increase rare item drop rates for 30 minutes. Eating after depletion only restores the bar — you miss the buff window.

Energy also refills passively at 5 points per minute while standing still in your house. Sitting on furniture doubles the rate to 10 per minute. Sleeping in your bed (the interaction prompt, not logging out) refills 50% of your bar every 10 real-time seconds. Read our Fishing Guide for energy-efficient fishing rotations.

FAQ

Does energy refill when I am offline?
No. Energy only refills while you are actively in the game. Logging out pauses your energy at its current level.
Can I increase my max energy?
Yes. Each hobby rank-up gives a permanent +5 to max energy. Reaching rank 10 in all six hobbies gives a total of +30 extra energy.
